STRIDE privacy policy

Nipomo Soccer Club. Last updated 14 September 2026.

STRIDE is equipment run by Nipomo Soccer Club. It measures how players move during their own training sessions and matches: small tags worn on the boots and, for some players, on the back of the shirt. This policy covers the STRIDE Setup app and the STRIDE server behind it.

Who this data is about

Most players in this club are children. That shapes every decision below, and the short version is that STRIDE is built so that the people who read its output cannot identify the children it measured.

What the app collects about you

Nothing. The STRIDE Setup app collects no personal information about the person using it. There is no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising identifier, no third-party SDK of any kind, and no tracking. Nothing is shared with a data broker or joined with data from other apps.

What the app sends, and where

The app talks to one server: this club's own STRIDE server at api.stride.nipomosoccer.com. It sends:

It reads the club roster so a coach can pick a player. It is sent over HTTPS and it goes nowhere else.

The app uses Bluetooth to find tags, read their battery and status, and change their settings. It does not use your location. iOS asks for Bluetooth permission because that is how iOS works, not because anything here is location data.

What the tags measure

Boot tags measure footfalls: how long each foot is on the ground, stride length, cadence, and impact. From those STRIDE computes distance, speed, sprints, work rate and left-right asymmetry.

A vest tag additionally measures its distance to two fixed radios at the side of the pitch, which produces a position on the pitch. This is short-range radio between the club's own equipment. It is not GPS, it works only inside that one pitch while the equipment is running, and it stops at the touchline. There is no location history and no tracking off the field.

Who can see what

Names live in one place inside STRIDE and do not leave it. Other systems this club runs, and anyone else given read access, receive a jersey number and nothing else. No name, no internal identifier, no tag address. This is enforced by the server, which refuses to send a response containing an identifying field rather than trusting anyone to remember the rule.

A deliberate consequence: a player cannot be followed across sessions from the shared data. Shirt 7 in September and shirt 7 in March may be different children, and STRIDE will not say.

Data is never sold, never shared for advertising, and never given to anyone outside the club.

Where it is kept, and for how long

On Google Cloud infrastructure, in the United States, under this club's own account. Session data is kept while it is useful to the coaching staff. A parent or player can ask for their data to be deleted and it will be, along with the binding between that player and any tag.

Children

The STRIDE Setup app is for coaches and team staff, not for players. A child is never asked to create an account or enter anything. Participation is through the club, with the same consent that covers being on the team, and a parent can ask that their child not be tagged at all, with no effect on their place in the squad.

Deleting your coach account

Signing in to STRIDE Setup creates an account for you on this club's server. It holds no name, no email and no password: an invite code from your club is exchanged for a session, and what is stored is an identifier, the teams that invite covered, and your role.

You can delete it from inside the app. Open the account icon in the top right, then Delete account. It asks you to confirm, because it cannot be undone and you would need a new invite code from your club to sign in again.

Deleting removes your account record and every session you hold, on every device, immediately. It also removes your identifier from the tag bindings you made, so no record of who bound which tag points back at you.

It does not delete the bindings themselves, or any player's measurements. A binding says which tag is worn by which player, and that is the club's record of its own equipment: deleting it because a coach left would make a season of a child's measurements unattributable. Player data is covered by the section above and is deleted on request.
