STRIDE Setup

Support for coaches and team staff at Nipomo Soccer Club.

STRIDE Setup is the app a coach uses to look after the club's player tracking tags. It is one part of a kit that also includes the tags themselves, two radios that sit at the side of the pitch, and a hub that records the session. The app on its own does not record anything: it is how you check the tags and say which tag is on which player before kickoff.

What you do with it

Check the kit bag
Open the app near the tags. It lists what it can hear, with battery level and status for each.
Bind a tag to a player
Scan the sticker on the tag, pick the player from your roster, say whether it is the left boot, the right boot or the vest. That pairing is what turns numbers into a named player's report afterwards.
Change a setting
Sample rate and similar, written to the tag over Bluetooth.

Common problems

No tags appear
Tags sleep to save battery. Give one a firm tap to wake it, and check that Bluetooth is on and that iOS has granted this app permission (Settings, then STRIDE Setup).
A tag shows as bound but produces nothing
It is bound without a key. Scan its sticker again: the key is in the QR code, and without it the hub rejects everything the tag sends.
A player's report has no left-right comparison
One boot only. Asymmetry needs both, so a player with a single tag gets distance and speed but no comparison.
No heat map for a session
Positions need the vest tag and both pitch-side radios running, and they need the radios to have measured their distance apart at the start. Everything else in the report works without any of that.

Getting an account

Sign-in is by invite code from your club. The app is not useful without one, because there is nothing in it that is not your club's own roster and your club's own equipment.
